I have decided to try my hand at blogging. As the title of my page suggests, I am just a diamond in the rough (sometimes still really rough)… But as I learn and grow as a person, this gives me an opportunity to share what I am learning with those around me. It gives me a chance to share my life with my family and friends that I may not see often. And it gives me a place to vent if necessary. Lol.

Let me introduce my beautiful family.

I am Shannon. I am a christian, mother, daughter, sister, employee, cheerleader, volunteer, chauffeur, exercise fanatic, foody, and emotional basketcase. I go through lots of ups and downs and have had many struggles,and like most people, I am overcoming my past and working to make a good life. I continue to move towards victory one step at a time and do what I can to make my life count.

This is me.

This handsome young man is Jaymin Paul. He is rambunctious and rowdy, funny and friendly, super smart and still a little sweet. He lights up my life everyday and I have never laughed SO HARD at anyone else’s antics. He is always coming up with funny stories, songs and anecdotes to love.

And then I have my miracle baby. Miss Jaylah Joy.  A miracle that made me look for God at a very dark time in my life. A beacon of light that pierced through the depths of hopelessness and despair. A huge blessing to me in every way.
