On the subject of Christians….

Titus 3:1-11

We are Saved in Order to Do Good

1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. (This seems like the people we all want to be, but how many of us practice what we preach. We tell people not to judge, but when we consider our own hearts, where are we in regards to this? Do you gossip about people? Are you “always gentle”?)

3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.(I think every one of us has experienced this at some point in our life. You get hurt and its a natural reaction to want to hurt the one who did it. We dont feel like being self-disciplined and self-controlled so we enslave ourselves to things like shopping, cigarettes, or whatever your particular poison was/is)

4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. (We are saved by mercy! Why not start showing some to your fellow man. We are meant to live in harmony with one another, not discord and dissension. We are to bring hope and life to those around us!)

8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. (Cant you see it? When we walk in love, like Jesus walked in love, we can change the whole world!!! We are meant to be a GOOD addition to the world as Christians, being like him and delivering hope, help and healing to those who are lost and dying. We are supposed to be people of excellence, doing what is “good for everyone”)

9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. (Stop quarreling over the small stuff and get out there and love on some people!)

10 Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. 11 You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned. (If someone is bringing condemnation and dissension with them, stay away!!! Stay Far Far Away!!! fighting and discord are the product of a sinful lifestyle, a lifestyle of judging and condemnation and we will be judged and condemned if that is the lifestyle we choose)

I just want to apologize to those I have judged. I want to be a blessing to you and not a curse, bring with me a hope and a future! I am attempting to walk in love today. Are you?

About Shannon Joy

I am a single mama with two incredible munchkins. I confuse most people and the deeper you delve into the rabbit hole, the more lost you will become. I play a lot, work a lot, learn a lot, volunteer a lot and tend to do a lot... I love my life. The past few years have been an incredible journey, full of ups and downs. Thankfully, I have made the choice to see challenges as opportunities and it makes me so much stronger than I ever thought possible. I love to write and paint and feel that being creative is my God-given talent. I am so excited to share my life and experiences with you. Although I am a diamond in the rough, I known that I am being chiseled and hewn by experiences and grace and perseverance. I love comments and feedback, so please send a little love when you can. I will always try to respond personally and in a timely fashion.
