Just me…

Vulnerability. I promised you guys a new post about me every weekday in May… so here ya go. Blog Post number 1.

Today’s Prompt was: 20 Little Known Facts About Me.

  1. I am only 5’2″, but most people think I am 5’7″ because I wear heels every day.
  2. I am one of ten kids. Eight of us are full-blood.
  3.  I have tattoos. For some reason, this always surprises people.
  4. I know how to ride a motorcycle and used to own one. I will buy another once my kids get a little older.
  5. I have been to 39 states on a motorcycle tour.
  6. Ice cream is my favorite dessert. Sometimes I like cheesecake, pumpkin pie or brownies. Most of the time, I thoroughly dislike pie, cake and cookies.
  7. I hate French fries. And pancakes. And olives.
  8. I am TERRIBLE at comprehending sarcasm. My brain just doesn’t work that way.
  9. My favorite color was green until I hit my 30’s. Then, it magically became turquoise/teal like my mama.

  11. I was homeschooled and I feel like it makes me think differently than most people.
  12. The great outdoors is my church. I feel like I find God more there than anywhere else.
  13. I like to drive in complete silence. No music. No audio book. Just me and my thoughts. Often with the windows rolled down.
  14. I have two big trunks FULL of journals. I started writing when I was super young and couldn’t stop. When I die, someone will be able to give a play-by-play of most of my life.
  15. I have 2 really close friends. They both live far away now. It makes me sad a lot.
  16. I have only dated one person since my divorce that made me honestly think about getting married again.
  17. Mt. Washmore (laundry) is my arch nemesis.
  18. I am a Christ-follower, and I think the “church” has most things wrong. I love the Muslim culture and I study the Tao and Buddhism as well.
  19. I am obsessed with birthdays. I give my kids an entire week of celebrations for their birthday.
  20. I would rather have an experience with someone than get a gift from someone. Always. Give me memories.

About Shannon Joy

I am a single mama with two incredible munchkins. I confuse most people and the deeper you delve into the rabbit hole, the more lost you will become. I play a lot, work a lot, learn a lot, volunteer a lot and tend to do a lot... I love my life. The past few years have been an incredible journey, full of ups and downs. Thankfully, I have made the choice to see challenges as opportunities and it makes me so much stronger than I ever thought possible. I love to write and paint and feel that being creative is my God-given talent. I am so excited to share my life and experiences with you. Although I am a diamond in the rough, I known that I am being chiseled and hewn by experiences and grace and perseverance. I love comments and feedback, so please send a little love when you can. I will always try to respond personally and in a timely fashion.

Love this Shannon. Learned a lot about you. Who hates pancakes and fries? I hate olives too. That’s cool about the motorcycle.

    • Shannon Joy says:

I know, right? Pancakes and fries… Ugggh. I used to love olives. Then I ate a HUGE jar as a kid and they all came back up. Haven’t been able to smell or eat them since.
