Prompt – Write about your ideal day. (I couldn’t fit the whole day, but isn’t this a gorgeous morning?)

My eyes slowly open as I breathe in the peace of my space. My down comforter has that “fresh linen” scent and it is mingled with my favorite smell of freshly mowed grass.
I glimpse over at the window where the white sheers are fluttering in the gentle breeze. I love waking up to open windows in the spring.
I take a moment to stretch before I put my feet on the floor. The older I get, the more I enjoy stretching my body in the morning.
I can’t believe I’m 40 now. It has been an incredible ride.
I am in my favorite nightgown. A short, sheer, flirty white thing. It’s the most comfortable thing I have ever worn, and it seems my husband likes it too.
I look over at him, sleeping so peacefully now. My thoughts briefly drift to last night as a smile touches my lips. He is the most incredible person I have ever met. I am so grateful he has become a part of my world.
I slide my feet into the slippers he got me for Christmas and grab my dressing robe. It’s time for coffee. This is my favorite time of day.
As I start the coffee, I ponder the beauty of my life.
I have a husband that I am absolutely enthralled with, even after ten years. We have two beautiful, smart children who are growing up to be passionate leaders.
We bought my dream home a few years ago. A big sprawling farmhouse with a wraparound porch on 100 acres.
The first time I saw it, I knew it was perfect for us. It’s close to town, but you wouldn’t know it if you looked out any of the windows. I like feeling like I am in the middle of nowhere. Nature speaks to me in a way that nothing else does. It’s so incredibly peaceful here.
I pour my coffee and head back to my bedroom. The bay window is still as gorgeous as the first day I fell in love with it. The view is incredible. Lush and green and glowing with new life as the sun rises over the horizon.
I sit in the oversize chair and pull out the book I am currently reading. Making time to read has been one of the greatest pleasures in my world, and I am thankful for this bit of solitude before the household begins to rustle around.
I read until my coffee is gone, then walk over to the bed to wake my love. I lean over to kiss him and he pulls me into the bed…
Mornings with him are always the best. Love and laughter are both big around here.
Eventually, we decide it’s time to start the day. Showers and dressing commence.
I walk down the hallway to the kitchen again. Breakfast today is omelets stuffed with delicious veggies. As the smell begins to fill the house, I hear the kids stirring. I know they will be out here soon. I check my little work station to make sure I didn’t forget anything for them, set out the dishes and pour some orange juice.
The sound of footsteps brings a smile to my face. “Good morning, mom.” My boy comes over to give me a quick hug before he sits down at the table. I love catching up with them before the day begins. Evenings are so busy with extracurricular activities and whatnot that this has become our primary family time. He gets ready a bit quicker than my daughter, so we always get a few extra minutes. He tells me about what he has going on today and a scuffle he witnessed at school yesterday. We discuss how people need to learn to control their anger and reminisce about when he was learning that lesson.
Click, click, click… the diva has arrived in all her glory. She bursts through the doorway with energy and enthusiasm that I can never fully comprehend. “It’s gonna be such an awesome day! I am looking forward to…” Her chatter fills the room with light and laughter as she banters with her brother and fills us in on every single detail of yesterday as well as her plans for today.
I serve breakfast just as my gorgeous guy sits down at the table. We all eat quickly, conversing between bites. It’s going to be a busy day, there is no question.
And then, they are gone. The house is quiet again. I put the dishes in the dishwasher and wipe down the table. Now it’s time to get to work.
Painting and writing never feel like work though. Today, I am incredibly excited about the project I am doing. It’s going to be my best work yet.
This is a beautiful life. Sometimes, I can’t even believe it’s mine.
Beautiful…just so perfect..awestruck!!💓😊
Thank you. ☺
